decadence

 les boys
 the team
 the ball setting
 rizzle kicks!

mexican moustache lads
 glamazoning whilst waiting for cocktails
kelis
going to a ball with your knight in shining armour (or black tie) - is that not what every girl wants? what about two balls in just a few days? ah, who doesn't love cambridge may week (which takes place in june, naturally). a grand celebration of the end of lord only knows how many sunlight-deprived days spent in the library. a wonderful start to the summer break to all
ples po boku svého rytířem ve stříbrném brnění (či ve smokinku) - není to přání každé holky? a co dva plesy za sebou? ach, kdo nemiluje cambridgský "may week" - velkolepá oslava konce bůhví kolika dnů bez slunečního světla strávených v knihovně. přeji všem krásné prázdniny

freedom is mine

three torturous weeks of exams are finally over and i am done with my second year at cambridge. i do apologise for my absence, but i cannot even begin to describe the intensity of exam term here - you find yourself reduced to a hermit-like existence, being able to count the minutes spent outside of a library on your fingers, living off anything that can be cooked and eaten in under five minutes and catching yourself lecturing stray cats on the constitutional foundations of judicial review.

anyway. in rediscovering freedom, i shall attempt to reintroduce (or maybe just introduce) regularity to the heart blog again. i'm contemplating its makeover and all. do stay tuned, and i wish happy freedom on all those students who are done with finals. those who aren't, hang in there!

emporio armani x elliott landy

it was a happy moment when i opened my inbox to discover an invitation to an exclusive preview of an exhibition of Elliott Landy's photos (entitled Icons from Woodstock) hosted by Emporio Armani in Manchester. a 4-hour journey and a few train debacles later, i was at the polished threshold of the ultra-modern Armani store in Spinningfields, cocktail and canapes in hand, for what proved to be an evening of new friends, great clothes and stunning photography.
the Emporio Armani bar. i wonder if this is a permanent fixture at the back of the store?
spying on some glamorous heels. oh sneaky me.
absolute favourite.
skipping off into the sunset with one sweet-smelling goodie bag. i am now an Armani perfume convert.

about the exhibition:
From 1967 to 1969 Elliott Landy, an American artist and photographer, captured a number of soon to be iconic rock and roll stars such as Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Eric Clapton and Van Morrison. His creative use of infrared film created some brilliantly colourful images that then went on to be used on record and magazine covers. The exhibition pays homage to an era that marked a great moment in the history of popular music and American culture.

the exhibition is on at the Armani store until MONDAY 7 MAY, after which it will be moving to Milan, so i'd absolutely recommend going if you're up north!

also thank you so much to Elizabeth at Armani for inviting me, i had an incredible time and it was so lovely meeting you.
